MIKA AI: BDF EXPERTS Expands SAP PPG with an AI Assistant for Project Cost Control

Düsseldorf, Germany, July 10, 2026 – BDF EXPERTS, an SAP Silver Partner with cross-cutting expertise in Digital Supply Chain and Corporate Finance & Treasury, is adding an AI assistant to its controlling solution MIKA. MIKA is part of SAP Product and Process Governance (SAP PPG) and supports product and project cost controlling. With MIKA AI, planning data for each work breakdown structure (WBS) element and PPG node can now be read conversationally, scenarios calculated, and project planning adjusted – directly in SAP S/4HANA via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Adjustments are posted only after explicit approval by the user.

SAP PPG establishes a central, consistent foundation for product and process data in SAP. On this basis, MIKA provides transparency in project cost controlling over the current status of costs and revenues – known as concurrent costing. Until now, controllers have relied primarily on reporting and dashboards. MIKA AI now complements these with a conversational assistant.

Instead of maintaining values manually through transactions, users state their task in natural language. The assistant reads the current status directly from SAP S/4HANA, derives commodity price scenarios from real market data (the World Bank “Pink Sheet”), calculates their impact on the affected planned costs via a maintained exposure layer, and presents a before/after preview for approval.

Governance is embedded at a technical level. Without approval in the confirmation dialog, a posting is rejected server-side. Data is written exclusively to a designated planning category, cell-precise and overwriting. Every transaction – including every rejected write attempt – is logged without gaps. SAP credentials and keys remain server-side and never reach the language model.
