Implementation of Intercompany Matching and Reconciliation
A municipal energy supplier from the Ruhr area faced the challenge of making the reconciliation of intercompany transactions more efficient and transparent as part of an S4/Hana project.
The previous processes led to high efforts and delays in the monthly closing. By introducing the new SAP S/4HANA module Intercompany Matching and Reconciliation (ICMR), the company aimed to solve these problems and simultaneously lay the foundation for future automation. The company sought professional support for the implementation of SAP add-ons and commissioned the SAP experts from BDF EXPERTS to complete the project within a tight timeframe of only two months.

Definition of Project Scope
The specific tasks in realizing the ICMR implementation included defining the necessary reconciliation rules and processes, and especially creating a unified data basis, as different SAP systems were used within the group. It was essential to create a CDS view as the data basis, which considered the peculiarities of the generated data extracts from external systems and simultaneously integrated the data from the SAP core system cleanly into the tables.
Project Result
With the help of BDF EXPERTS, the problems in the area of CDS view development were successfully resolved, as redundant data was generated within the upload process, which was not suitable for ICMR reconciliation. The now clean data structure enables smooth harmonization of the data from the external systems and the SAP core system.
Furthermore, by conceptualizing matching methods and the corresponding matching rules, BDF EXPERTS enabled successful consolidation preparation. The group is now able to efficiently reconcile data from the companies, significantly simplifying its monthly and annual closing process.
An expansion of the consolidation solution is conceivable for the future.
