🎙️ 25 Years of BDF EXPERTS: An Interview with Kjell Guntermann (9/25)

Behind BDF EXPERTS’ 25-year history are, above all, the people who have shaped our story. One of them is Kjell Guntermann, who has been with our company for nearly 20 years—as one of the original developers, he was involved, among other things, in the creation of the DCC, which later became our SAP PPG product.

In this interview, he looks back on his time at BDF and shares which milestone he’s particularly proud of: What started as a homemade Excel solution for his own time tracking—including VBA programming he taught himself—gradually became a standard for the entire company.

When asked to describe the company culture in three words, Kjell responds with his very own interpretation of the letters BDF: Participation, Learning, and Family. These three terms, for him, capture what has defined BDF over the years—the opportunity to help shape the company, to continually learn new things, and to be part of a supportive and appreciative community.

And finally, he reveals what surprised him when he made the switch from a large corporation to BDF: not only the chance, as one of three developers of the DCC, to help create real software that continues to offer customers added value to this day—but above all, an excellent team you can rely on.
