25 Years of BDF EXPERTS: The Evolution of Our Products – From DCC to SAP PPG
As part of our campaign celebrating the 25th anniversary of BDF EXPERTS, we’re taking a look today at a key pillar of our success: the development of our own SAP-integrated software solutions. What began as a response to specific customer needs has evolved over the years into an official SAP product.
The Origin: Solutions for Complex Business Processes
Instead of reinventing the wheel for every client, we began to translate our best practices into standardized yet highly flexible software solutions.
The milestones in our product development
Our product journey is characterized by continuous improvement and a commitment to simplifying complex SAP processes:
2006: Document Control Center (DCC)
It all started with DCC. It offered our customers a structured and efficient way to manage and control documents within the SAP environment—an essential step for companies with high documentation requirements.
2008: Material Control Center (MCC)
Two years later, we expanded our portfolio to include the MCC. This solution focused on optimized material control and bridged the gap between design and manufacturing.
2010: Process Control Center (PCC)
The PCC was the logical culmination of our previous developments. As a comprehensive, SAP-integrated solution for customer-order-based business models, the PCC enabled end-to-end process control and quickly became the centerpiece of many of our customer projects.
2021: The Merger into SAP Product and Process Governance (SAP PPG)
With SAP Product and Process Governance (SAP PPG) by BDF, we now offer the leading SAP solution for end-to-end CTO (Configure-to-Order), CTO+, and ETO (Engineer-to-Order) business models. SAP PPG is officially listed on the SAP price list and bundles all of our expertise into a modern, future-proof framework.
Outlook: What's next?
But the journey continues. We will soon be dedicating a separate, in-depth article to SAP PPG. Look forward to exciting insights into the future of our solution—and perhaps a visual update or two that we’ll be unveiling soon. Stay tuned!
